Just call me Dr. FrankenAnt!

I've been trying for a while to get my hand on some suspension base for frankening, and last week I finally got some. 5 bottles with each 15 ml. of the liquid I had been lusting after for so long.

I quietly panicked, and did nothing with it for a week.

I finally pulled myself together, and once I got started it was so much fun mixing glitters and base and colours. This is what I made:

Here are the individual colours with swatches:

This one is as of yet unnamed, but I think I might add 3 or 4 small orange glitters to it and then name it Finding Nemo

Rain on my Parade

Purple Rain

Thunderstruck!

All are 3 coats on their own with a coat of Seche Vite on top.

What do you think? Would you wear my water themed polishes on your nails?

Back to blue blue basics

My favourite polish colour is without a doubt blue. And it is what I always go for when I need something easy and awesome that just can't miss. This is one of those blues. I found it in a sale in town - a rare occurence since opi is usually 125 kr/$21/€17 and hence quite far away from a price I would pay for it.

Introducing: OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue. It's a rich deep blue, with a very shiny finish, even without topcoat.

This is definitely going on my list of favourite blues!

Ninja Polish Alexandrite

I really have been all about the colour changing polishes lately, and this one is no different.

This is from Ninja Polish, who have recently started making their own line of polishes, with different colour shifting polishes. This one has small glitters that change in colour with the light.

I layered it over black, to get the full colour spectrum to show clearly.

It changes in colour from a deep green, to blue, purple and hints of red. I caught myself staring randomly at my nails so many times through the day. Either this is an amazing polish or I'm going ever so slightly mad. Probably both.

Oh yeah - I made a gif!

I can't wait to try the other two Ninja Polishes I have waiting for me, Zultanite and Color Changing Garnet. You should all go buy them right away (or at least sign up to get an email when they're in stock)

Hits Phenomena

Today I have two beautiful polishes with a wonderful colourchanging effect, from the Hits Phenomena collection we have Moonbow and Afterglow

On the left hand it is Hits Afterglow with Hits Moonbow as accent on my ring finger.
It's a glitter polish with duochrome effect, and I layered it over black to get the full effect to shine as much as possible.

On my right hand, the polishes are oppisite the left hand -it's now Hits Moonbow witha ringfinger accent nail of Hits Afterglow.

It has a wonderful shine in the sun, and the colourchanging effect is very noticeable, but difficult to photograph.

These are wonderful polishes, perfect for summer and sun. They are beautiful without sun, the colour effect is very noticeable, but they shine extra in the sun!

I received these polishes in a swap from Brazil, but they can also be purchased from Llarowe and Ninja Polish

Jelly Sandwich

I was feeling a bit peckish, I thought I'd have a sandwich, but needed a somewhat healthier alternative. Enter: the jelly sandwich - a moment on your tips, never on your hips!

The polishes I used are Rainbow In The S-Kylie and It's All About The Glam, both by Nicole by OPI.

I started with a coat of It's All About The Glam, then a coat of Rainbow In The S-Kylie, and then a last coat of It's All About The Glam. I finished off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Then I decided to finish it all off with a coat of Essie: Matte about you

What do you think? Is this sandwich ready to eat?

Daisy

I have been wanting this polish for a long time, the beautiful Daisy by Vivid Lacquer

It's a sheer white base with small dark green glitter and bigger golden and pastel green glitter. It also has  white diamond glitter and a slight golden shimmer.

I love how the glitters are so subtle, yet the polish has quite defined character.

I started with a coat of Wet 'n' Wild French White Creme, partly because I like to preserve my precious Daisy and partly because I have a terrible allergy to VNL. Seriously, i break out in hives! Daisy is actually quite opaque in 3 coats, and it has a softer finish without the stark white base that I actually prefer - and only the slightest hint of VNL. You can see the difference on my left hand pinky.

Pinky has 3 coats of Daisy with no base.

I wanted this polish so much, that I had it shipped to a kind soul in USA, who then shipped it on to me. Luckily for us all though, Vivid Lacquer has since started shipping her polishes to the rest of the world.

Holy multichrome Batman!

Behold the wonder of Hits Cutie Pie from the Mari Moon collection!

I knew this polish was beautiful from the bottle, but I was unprepared for the true wonderful nature of this polish, until I applied it to my nails. Stunning!

I have taken pictures of this polish all through the day, I kept being gobsmacked by it's beauty!

The pink, the blue, the green, the purple... all at the same time!

Colourful in the shade

Colourful in the sun

I want to marry my nails and have  their multichromatic children!

I was lucky enough to receive this polish from a swap with a sweet woman from Brazil, but it can also be purchased from Llarowe

Phew. That was just way too many positive adjectives in one place. I may have to go shout profanities in the bathroom now. Excuse me!

Tristam and stamping

At the recent A England sale, I was lucky enough to get Tristam, a wonderful holographic blue. It applies like a dream and looks amazing.

I wanted to try my hand at stamping (I'm still a stamping noob, so please be kind!), so I got out my stamping plates from Vivid Lacquer:

Tetris
Skull and crossbones

I used plates VL001 an VL002 with Color Club What a Shock! I love these plates, not only are the images awesome, but they also make stamping a walk in the park. I don't know why, but the images seem the be sharper with these plates. I also can't wait for their next plates, which involves badgers and mushrooms (and a snake!)!

My friend Yoshi

Another Dollish Polish! I apologise for the monotony but I just can't stay away from these. Dino-mite Yoshi was a n early favourite back when I first saw bottle shots of the Mario collection, and I have to say that it lives up to all my expectations. It's a beautiful and unique glitter top coat, unlike anything else in my collection. It has small round glitter in green and white and red squares, but what makes this polish is the larger hexagonal glitters in pastel green. I think they are beautiful and unique, and they look almost transparent.

This polish is packed with glitter, and has to be applied with a little caution to get it to spread evenly.

I wore it over Sinful Colors Innocent, a beautiful green that goes well with this polish, albeit a tiny bit christmassy. Next time I want to pair it with something that makes the beautiful pastel green glitters pop a bit more, though.

Yoshi approves, and says he wishes he had nails!

Toad-ally Awesome!

From my recently received Dollish Polish Mario Collection, I really couldn't wait to try layering this beautiful polish.

Toad-ally Awesome is a glitter top coat. It has mostly white glitters in small squares and hexes and larger hexagonal glitters. It also has small gold squares, small blue flecks, large blue squares and red hexes.

I have layered it over GOSH Lavender Love, which is a beautiful lilac colour and the easiest application I have seen in a while. This is just Lavender Love, one coat and no cleanup done:

The picture was taken last night, with the last bit of daylight, and does not show the true colour. The pictures with Toad-ally Awesome are much more true to colour.

These pictures are two coats of Toad over one coat of Lavender Love finished with two coats of Seche Vite. It had to be dabbed a bit to spread evenly, but application was generally good. This was also the mani that really caught my new(ish) co-workers attention, and after a guessing contest around the lunch table, they forced me to tell them just how many polishes I have AND made me promise to do all their manis for the christmas party dammit!

I can't wait to do full manis with the rest of the Mario collection, I am winking at Dino-mite Yoshi as we speak!

Nail mail

When it rains, it pours! This week has been pretty amazing for nail mail, first all the great brazilian lot of polishes, then the Dollish Polish Mario collection and then today I got these beauties:

Posing with the polishes is my friend Banjo. He fancies himself quite the model, that one. He kept insisting I only photograph his good side and mumbled something about smizing. I can tell you, Kazooie was NOT impressed!

The polishes are, from left to right OPI Absolutely Alice, China Glaze Sexagon and Funky Fingers Mermaid Lagoon. I can't wait to try them all!
